It's hard being a man sometimes, more so it's hard to be me. I like everything and hence want to participate in it. When Michael Khoury( my one and only lebo of the month from a while back ) introduced me to the Call of Duty series ( a first person based war simulation for your computer or gaming console ) I laughed at him. "A simplistic, barbaric game which requires nothing more than a quick trigger finger and a beard of acne" he replied..well I can't remember how he replied but it would of been something in Lebanese like "Trust me bro, this game is good. Just like my hero Scarface".
Even though the character from Scarface's name was Tony Montana and not actually 'Scarface' I let it go, I have to as my life isn't dedicated to going around correcting everybody who makes a reference like "Hey bro who would you rather fight Scarface or Predator" as although it would probably pay well at the end of the days on my planet I'd look back and then cry tears of acid which would then in fact scar my face...wouldn't that be Ironic.
Anyway Modern Warfare 3 has been released and I and a few friends attended the launch, we'd be waiting for a long time and it was good to finally have the weight of the wait (boom) off our shoulders. After rushing home and jumping straight in, I hated it. Too fast, players spawning right on top of each and it just seemed like development of the multiplayer facet of the game has been rushed.
2 days later it was a different story, I 'd been playing a bit and started to adjust. I was used to the Black Ops Call of Duty game which is much slower and steady. A great multiplayer game which seemed to have been well put together from all angles, I was good at it ( not great but good ) but as I was getting close to my peak the game started to wind up due to the release of MW3 and it hit me I'd never got the chance to get into an 'Elite Bracket' or anything ( by Elite I mean the top 5000, remember there is about 6,000,000 people playing this game ).
With Black Ops behind me and a chance to start fresh I decided I was going to try and become a top 5000 player in MW3. I knew it was going to take time, patience and Red Bull but these were things which I could tie into my everyday lifestyle like a Greek woman finding a way to put olive oil into a dish that had absolutely no reason to include it in.
This is the introduction into the quest that I will be participating in stay tuned for more.
